A bit of history
The counter is a place where the past blends harmoniously with the present. While exploring the foundations of our building, we discovered a signature in the concrete dated 1930, belonging to Louis Legault, the former owner. After extensive research in the photographic archives of the Lachine Museum, a fascinating story was revealed. Ninety-two years ago, Mr. Legault passionately inaugurated the Legault et Frère grocery store at 1000 St-Joseph Boulevard.
Today, our gourmet grocery store is bringing this space back to its roots. We've embarked on a journey to rediscover the flavors, traditions, and community spirit that shaped its origins. We've worked to preserve this history through the design of our neighborhood café.

There are always local drinks to try, a good wine selection, and the St-Jo brand merchandise is really cool. I almost always get the same thing: a breakfast bagel with bacon and potatoes, and an iced decaf latte and/or a drink. The speculoos cookies are good too.
